Since I installed AVG 8.0, my System process has been taking 65000k. Removed the virus and searched for weeks for a solution to the SvcHost problem. First thing I do is load up their computer and try to install Spy Sweeper, most of the time I don't have a problem doing this. Now the svchost thing is FIXED. We've defragmented & did a cleanup of old files & stuff like that. Some computers don't seem to be fast enough to run Spy Sweeper all the time.
You can always buy the program at a later date once you start seeing positive findings. It started giving me SVCHOST.exe errors. That's why I recommend┬ámaking certain you regularly visit Windows Update and take the latest fixes to keep your system up to┬ádate, not only for this issue but for any other issues Svchost High Memory Everything was running fine with version 4.5 no problems Medical software humming along.

If you have this svchost.exe memory leak bug after about 1 minute you will see that the amount of memory usage svchost.exe uses will keep increasing until CPU becomes 99 or It launches smss.exe on your computer. I never recall it being there before. So here I am and the problem still exists. I can't see the contents of the Control Pannel. Seems like Zone Alarm is the choice for the moment.

bec it keeps using 50% of my CPU. Bu finding the right one, start->run->tastlist /svc (and look for the ID) Then you go into Prosess Explorer, Rightclick the svchost.exe and press restart.
